Company Search API Benchmark

When you ask for “{industry} companies with {headcount} employees in {country}”, how many of the returned companies actually fit? Each provider answers the same 10 frozen queries, and every company returned is judged blind.

Not measured yet. The first run of this sub-report will follow the method below.

Methodology

  1. 01
    Test set

10 queries each fix an industry (with accepted synonyms), a headcount band and a country. Each provider is asked for up to 25 matching companies via its native company-search API, with the query translated to its own taxonomy as faithfully as the API allows.

  2. 02
    Grading

Every returned company is judged blind on industry fit from its description and website; headcount and country are checked deterministically against the ground-truth record. Industry fill is the share of results with an industry label present.

Questions about the Company Search API Benchmark

What does the Company Search API Benchmark measure?

It grades providers on 5 metrics: precision, precision@10, depth (avg/25), industry fill and latency p50. It has not been run yet, so no provider is ranked on it.

How will the Company Search API Benchmark be measured?

Every provider will answer the same frozen, verified test set (10 frozen queries · K=25 · set v2026-08-07.1) in the same window, graded by blind LLM judge. Each value will get a letter grade against the rest of the field, A for the top fifth down to D for the bottom fifth.

Not automatic, on purpose: a human has to get access (or request it when there's no self-serve), plug in an API key, adapt the frozen test files to the provider's schema, then run the suites. Leave the details below and we'll take it from there, usually within a few weeks.
