Company Live API Benchmark

Does the provider fetch the company profile as it is right now, or serve a cached copy? 200 companies with a known recent change (headcount, funding, rebrand, acquisition) are requested from each live endpoint and diffed against the public profile at the same minute.

Not measured yet. The first run of this sub-report will follow the method below.

Methodology

  1. 01
    Test set

200 public company profiles are selected for having a documented change in the previous 7 days (headcount, new funding, rebrand, new office, hiring surge, layoffs, acquisition, IPO, shutdown, domain migration) plus a control group. Each provider's live endpoint is called and captured within 60 seconds of a reference snapshot.

  2. 02
    Grading

Fetch success is the share of requests returning a profile. Field parity is the share of changed fields already reflecting the change. Staleness is the median age of the served copy where a change was missed. Rate-limit headroom is the sustained requests-per-minute before the first 429.

Questions about the Company Live API Benchmark

What does the Company Live API Benchmark measure?

It grades providers on 5 metrics: fetch success, field parity, staleness, latency p50 and rate-limit headroom. It has not been run yet, so no provider is ranked on it.

How will the Company Live API Benchmark be measured?

Every provider will answer the same frozen, verified test set (200 companies · 10 change scenarios · set v2026-08-07.1) in the same window, graded by live-profile diff (objective). Each value will get a letter grade against the rest of the field, A for the top fifth down to D for the bottom fifth.

Not automatic, on purpose: a human has to get access (or request it when there's no self-serve), plug in an API key, adapt the frozen test files to the provider's schema, then run the suites. Leave the details below and we'll take it from there, usually within a few weeks.
